A catch-all email mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to nonexistent addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you will never miss emails because the other party has an obsolete address or has made a spelling error. The downside of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of spam messages, but this issue can be solved using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also vital to bear in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot redirect incoming messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting
Configuring a catch-all mailbox will be astonishingly easy in case you have a Linux cloud hosting with us. You can enable this option through our advanced, yet intuitive Email Manager, which is an indivisible part of the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will administer the hosting account itself. You’ll find all the email addresses that you have set up enumerated alphabetically and on the right side of each of them there will be a small "Catch-all" icon, which will instantly tell you if a certain mailbox gets all the emails for a given domain or not. With one click on the icon you can enable or disable the feature whenever you like. In case there’s activated email forwarding or in case some other mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a specific domain, you will get a warning from our system. The latter will not disable/replace anything automatically and without your consent.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The catch-all option can be activated easily in case you have a semi-dedicated server account with us. All the email addresses that you have created using the domains hosted in the account will be shown in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will see a small button handily located right next to each one of them. With only a mouse click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choice provided that there isn't another mailbox under the same domain with the option already enabled and there isn't active email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and enable this feature using the contextual menu that will appear. In case any of the preconditions for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not answered, our system will warn you, but will not disable or replace anything automatically.
